John Gray started Atlanta Waterscapes more than 35 years ago. The idea was simple: build outdoor spaces by hand, with real stone, and actually show up to do the work yourself. That's still how we operate.
John is the first person you talk to and the last person to check the finished work.
John takes you to the stoneyard to choose every piece yourself. You see the color in daylight, feel the texture, and decide what goes in your yard.
No prefab panels. No manufactured veneer. Every stone is cut and laid by hand on-site. It's slower work, and it holds up.
Bring us a photo from a magazine or a home tour. We'll figure out how to do it in stone.
General liability and workers' compensation coverage on every job, residential and commercial.
The difference between hand-laid stone and contractor-grade paver work is obvious the day it's installed. It's even more obvious five years later.

Natural stone you hand-pick at the yard — not samples from a binder.

Grading, drainage, footings, stone-setting, water features, and finish landscaping.

Planting, bed design, ground cover, and seasonal color around every hardscape.
A single stone wall or fire pit usually takes two to four weeks. A full backyard transformation with multiple features runs about a month on-site.
John comes to the property, looks at the grade, drainage, and soil. A site walk is free.
You go to the yard together to pick the actual material for your project.
You approve the plan for the work, the material, and the scope before anyone digs.
The crew digs, pours footers, sets drainage, and lays the stone by hand.
Planting and finish landscaping, then John checks the finished work himself.
